Discussion & Documentation

Bona Bentura [sic] Ether, a carpenter (Zimmermann), and his wife Katharina Eva settled in the Volga German colony of Volmer on 18 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 12 along with orphan Katharina Horn (age 15). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Ether and Horn families.

The 1767 census records that Ether came from the German town of Worms in the Kurpfalz region.
