Feit / Veit (Göbel)
Martin Veit, a single farmer, arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 30 May 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 25 May 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 34 along with new wife Gertrude Unkelbach and son Lorenz (2-weeks-old).
In 1797, Anton Feit moved from Göbel to Galka.
Lorenz Fei[t] and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Göbel in Household No. Gb53 along with a note that his brother Johannes (age 28) is working in the colony of Schuck..
The 1767 census records that Martin Veit came from the German village of Busecker Tal in the Würzburg region.
