Discussion & Documentation

Widow Elisabeth Felde and her children (Konrad, age 19; Anna Maria, age 14; Johann, age 12; Johann Sebastian, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 28 July 1766 aboard a Russian pink named Vologda [an historic Russian city] under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 45.

Elisabeth Felde, her son Konrad and his family, and her sons Johann & Sebastian are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 161.

The 1798 census of Köhler records Sebastian Felde from Grimm in Household No. Kl40.

Christian Felde from Grimm is recorded on the 1834 census of Franzosen in Household No. 101.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that this Felde family came from the German region of Darmstadt.
