Michael Flanz, a farmer, and his wife Anna Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Semenovka on 24 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 23.
The 1767 census records that Michael Flanz came from the village of Simmern in Luxembourg.
