Johann Friedrich Flath, son of Philipp Flath & Eva Maria Morasch, was born 4 August 1743 in Mümling-Grumbach, near Höchst im Odenwald where he was baptized on 6 August 1743.

He and his wife Eva Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

Johann Fried. Flaath [sic] and his wife Cathrina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Cathrina died en route.

Friedrich Flath, a farmer, and his [new] wife Maria Magdalena are recorded on the 1767 census of Frank in Household No. 95. They had settled in Frank on 1 September 1767.

Widower Johann Friedrich Flath and his son Johann Heinrich are recorded on the 1798 census of Frank in Household No. Fk085.

Nikolaus Flath, presumed son of Johann Friedrich Flath, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Frank in Household No. Fk086.

Christoph Flath, son of the deceased Friedrich Flath from Frank, is recorded on the 1798 census of Walter in Household No. Wt023.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Friedrich Flach [sic] came from the German region of Friedberg. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Wirlikrulbach [?] in the Erbach region.
