Widower Johann Ignatius Fosbusche, a merchant (Kaufmann), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Johannes under the command of Skipper Stahl.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Semenovka where he is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 44.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Ignatius Fosbusche came from the German region of Mainz.

There are no known surviving male descendants of this family among the Volga German colonies.
