Fries (Beideck)
There are two Fries families recorded on the 1775 census of Beideck. Their relationship to each other, if any, is not recorded:
(1) Martin Fries, age 64, and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on the 1775 census of Beideck in Household No. 51 along with his son-in-law Gottfried Flemming.
(2) Andreas Fries, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and father Balthasar arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the galliot Die Fortuna under the command of Skipper Peter Stahl.
Andreas Fries, his wife Anna Katharina, and children (Maria Margaretha, age 8; Johann Balthasar, age 6; Johann Valentin, age 4; Johann Michael, age 1) are recorded on the 1775 census of Beideck in Household No. 47.
Andreas Fries and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Beideck in Household No. Bd11.
In 1790, Valentin Fries moved from Beideck to Stahl am Tarlyk.
Valentin Fries and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. St04.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Andreas Fries came from the German region of Hanau.
