Fuhr (Rothammel)

Christian Fuhr, a farmer, his wife, and his sisters arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Svyatoi Pavel (St. Paul) under the command of the Lieutenant Fyedor Sornev.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel on 21 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 13.

Christian Fuhr and his family (sons: Peter, age 26; Mattias, age 17; Johannes, age 7) are recorded on the 1798 census of Rothammel in Household No. Rt21.

The death of Christian Fuhr in 1800 is recorded on the 1811 census of Rothammel in Household No. 21.

Mattias Fuhr, son of Christian Fuhr, is recorded on the 1811 census of Rothammel in Household No. 21 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Preuss [year not recorded].

Mattias Fuhr from Rothammel and his son Anton (age ½) are recorded on the 1811 census of Preuss in Household No. 80 along with a note that Mattias had arrived in Preuss from Rothammel in 1801.

In 1797, Johann Jakob Fuhr moved from Rothammel to Brabander.

Jakob Fuhr and his wife are recoded on the 1798 census of Brabander in Household No. Bn28.

In 1798, Frank & Michael Fuhr moved from Rothammel to Dehler.

The 1767 census records that Christian Fuhr came from the Sasbach in the Baden-Baden region.
