Gaff / Haff*
Adam Gaff from Brabander and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Dehler in Household No. Dl13 along with a note that Adam Gaff is working in Herzog.
Adam Gaff is recorded on the 1811 census of Dehler in Household No. 13 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Graf.
Adam Gaff and his wife Barbara are recorded on the 1834 census of Graf in Household No. 52 along with Adam's brother-in-law Philipp Hepp and his family. [The 1834 census records Adam Gaff as the brother-in-law (шурин = wife's brother) of Philipp Hepp - not that Adam Gaff is the husband of Philipp Hepp's sister. This does not match up with what is published on the 2002 Leus/Rupp/Leiker translation of the 1850 Graf Census, p. 101.]
Adam Gaff is recorded on the 1850 census of Graf and had evidently died between 1834 & 1850. However, the 2002 published translation of the 1850 census does not record the death year.
There are no know surviving male lines of this Gaff / Haff family among the Volga German colonies.
