Georg Michael Gütle [sic], a craftsman (Handwerker), his wife, and two unnamed sons (ages 10 & 1) immigrated to Schleswig-Holstein (Denmark), arriving in Fridericia on 24 July 1760. They are last recorded among the Danish colonies on 26 April 1763.
They joined the migration to Russia and settled in the Volga German colony of Enders on 27 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14 under the surname of Gitle [sic]. Subsequent records indicate that this surname is Gitler (see 1798 Enders Household No. En04).
The 1798 census of Enders records in Household No. En04 that Heinrich Gitler is in the colony of Fischer.
The 1767 census records that Michael Gitle [sic] came from the German village of Kloster Lichter in the Wittenberg region.
