Grünewald (Beideck)
Michael Grünewald, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the galliot Die Fortuna under the command of Skipper Peter Stahl.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Beideck and are recorded there on the 1775 census in Household No. 44 along with orphan Maria Götz (age 14). The 1775 census of Beideck does not record a relationship between the Grünewald and Götz families.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Michael Grünwald [sic] came from the German region of Erbach.
