Johann Christian Heilmann & Anna Maria Berger were married on 25 April 1766 in the Lutheran Cathedral (Evangelische Kirche Dom) in Lübeck.
This is believed to be the same Christian Heilmann and his wife Margaretha [sic] who arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Christoph [sic] Heylmann and his wife Maria are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Christian Heilmann and his wife Maria are recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 63. They had settled there on 7 June 1767.
In 1782, Christian Heilmann and his family moved from Orlovskaya to Schäfer.
Johann Christian Heilmann from Orlovskaya is recorded on the 1798 census of Schäfer in Household No. Sf37 along with a note that he is serving as the schoolmaster in the colony of Schwed.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Heilmann was a furrier while the 1767 census records that he was a sheepskin tanner (Schaffelgerber).
There are no known surviving male lines of this Heilmann family among the Volga German colonies.
