Henning (Lauwe)*
Johann Gottfriedt Henning & Maria Schmidt were married on 30 April 1766 in Roßlau.
Johann Gottfried Henning, a stonemason (Maurer), his wife Christina Elisabeth, and step-daughter Christina [Schmidt] (age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Nord Stern under the command of Skipper Detlev Belling.
Johann Gottfried Henning, his wife Christina Elisabeth, and daughter Christina Elisabeth (age 14) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Lauwe on 5 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 38 [with surname translated as Göringen]. Gottfried is recorded in Lauwe on the 1798 census in Household No. Lw42.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Gottfried Henning came from the German region of Sachsen (Saxony). The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Wittenberg in Sachsen (Saxony).
There are no known surviving male descendants of this Henning family among the Volga German colonies.
