Mattias Hermann, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and daughter Rosina (age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Mathias Hermann, his wife Catharina, and daughter Rosina (age ¼) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Rosina died en route.
They are recorded on an appendix of Beauregard recruits to the 1767 census (No. 139) along with a note that they settled in the Volga German colony of Zug in 1768.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Mattias Hermann came from the German village of Mühlbach.
