Johann Heinrich Hermann, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 10.
The 1767 census records that Johann Heinrich came from the German village of Gorsenbrun [?] in the Holstein region.
