Mattias Silder [sic], a merchant (Kaufmann), his wife Anna, and sons (Johann, age 3; Anton, age 1¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Vergoldete Weintraube (The Guilded Grape) under the command of Skipper Joachim Hermann Andersen.
Mathias Hillger [sic], his wife Anna Margar., and sons (Johann, age 3; Joh. Adam, age 1) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that the oldest son died in route.
Mattias Eichart [sic], a merchant (Kaufmann), and his wife Anna Margaretha arrived in the Volga German colony of Semenovka on 24 July 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.
Michael & Peter [sic] Hilgerd, presumed sons of Mattias Hilgerd, moved from Semenovka to Göbel.
Michael Hilgerd and his brother Johannes are recorded on the 1798 census of Göbel in Household No. Gb69.
Their descendants are recorded on the 1834 census of Göbel in Households No. 48 & 104.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Mattias Silder [sic] came from the German region of Fulda. The 1767 census records that Mattias Eichart [sic] came from the German town of Salmünster in the Fulda region.
