There are two Hix families that arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Frau Catharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Jenßen. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.
(1) Anton Hix, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived in Oranienbaum.
Anthon [sic] Hix and his wife Utilia are recorded on a list of colonists being transferred from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
It is not known in which colony they settled.
(2) Adam Hix, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived in Oranienbaum.
Johann Adam Hix and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on a list of colonists being transferred from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
It is not known in which colony they settled.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that both of these Hix families came from the German region of Isenburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of these Hix families among the Volga German colonies.
