Christian Ludwig Horlensen, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Dobrinka on 29 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29.

The 1767 census records that Christian Ludwig Horlensen came from the German town of Reval in Estland [today Tallinn, Estonia].

Christian Horlensen [mis-translated as Goleisen in some sorces] and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Dobrinka in Household No. Db71.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
