Discussion & Documentation

Johann Hübner, a farmer, his wife Anna, and daughters (Katharina, age 17¼; Gertrude, age 16¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Wachsamkeit (Vigilance) under the command of Skipper Jacob Heinrich Sager.

The [unnamed] widow of Johann Hübner and her daughters (Catharina, age 18; Gerdrauth, age 15) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony the widow Hübner and her daughters settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Hübner came from the German region of Bamberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Hübner family among the Volga German colonies.
