Discussion & Documentation:

Magdalena Elisabeth Schmick, daughter of Georg Philipp Schmick & Anna Elisabeth Lehning was born about 1750, probably in Büdingen.

The Büdingen marriage register records the marriage there of Maria Magdalena Schmick, daughter of the late Philipp Schmick of Büdingen, to Peter Iserle, a baker from Ettenheim near Strasburg [sic] on 9 May 1766.

This couple arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Reders along with several other members of the Schmick family.  The Schmick families settled in the Volga German colony of Yagodnaya Polyana, but this Iserle couple has not been located there. They and any descendants are presumed to have died between arrival in Oranienbaum and settlement among the Volga German colonies.
