Jäger (Lauwe)
Wolf[gang] Jäger, a hosier (Strumpfwirker), his wife Eva, and children (Friedrich, age 20; Barbara, age 13) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Börse von Lübeck under the command of Skipper Martin Friedrich Markau.
Wolfgang Jeeger [sic], his wife Eva Rosina, and daughter Maria Barbara (age 14) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Lauwe on 5 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29.
The 1767 census records that Wolfgang Jäger came from the German village of Marbach in the Württemberg region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Jäger family among the Volga German colonies.
