Weigand Jensen, a farmer, hiw wife Helena, children (Anna 5; Johann, age 3; Paul, age 6-weeks), and his mother-in-law Anna [surname not recorded] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 9 May 1767 and he is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 41.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Weigand Jensen came from the German region of Holstein. The 1767 census record that Weigand Jensen came from the German village of Tornesch in Holstein.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Jensen family among the Volga German colonies.
