The baptisms of two daughters born to Johann Heinrich Jost & Catharina Pfahl are recorded in the parish register of Beienheim: (1) Anna Sidonia, baptised 9 January 1762; and (2) Anna Christina, born 30 June 1765, baptized 2 July 1765.
Heinrich Jost, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 5; Christina, age 1¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard a galliot named Der Junge Mattias (The Young Mattias) under the command of Skipper David Wohlert.
Johann Heinrich Jost (age 40), a farmer, his wife Katharina (age 32), and children ([Anna], age 6; Johannes, age 5-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Dobrinka in Household No. 84. They had arrived in Dobrinka on 20 June 1767.
Anna Sidonia Schmidt née Jost (age 38) is recorded on the 1798 census of Dobrinka in Household No. Dr14.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Jost came from the German region of Riedesel. The 1767 census records that Johann Heinrich Jost came from the German village of Stockhausen in the Riedesel region. The Beienheim and Riedesel families controlled adjacent regions in Middle Hessen, but there a specific connection between them has not been identified.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Jost family among the Volga German colonies.
