The marriage of Johann Sebastian Köhler to Anna Christina Müller, daughter of Johann Heinrich & Anna Catharina Müller, is recorded in the parish register of Soden on 25 December 1738. Anna Catharina Müller had been born 8 February 1719 in Eckardroth.
The baptisms of the following children of Johann Sebastian Köhler & Anna Christina Müller [each born in Eckardroth] are recorded in the parish register of the chapel in Soden: (1) Johann Caspar, born 14 December 1739; (2) Maria Gertrud, born 29 July 1756; (3) Johann Michael, born 29 September 1759; and (4) Andreas, born 20 April 1761. [It appears that the family left the area and returned since the births of other children are not recorded in Soden.]
Sebastian Köhler, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Johann, age 20; Anna, age 18; Andreas, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.
Sebastian Köhler, his wife Anna Christina, and children (Johann Heinrich, age 18; Katharina, age 16) are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 65. They had settled there on 20 August 1767.
Andreas Keller from Pfeifer and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Josefstal in Household No. 17.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Sebastian Köhler came from the German region of Fulda. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Salmünster in the Fulda region.
