Discussion & Documentation

Solomon Kanzler, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Karl, age 10; Anna, age 8; Georg, age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kolb on 13 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 5.

The 1767 census records that Solomon Kanzler came from the German village of Sandau in the region of Brandenburg.
