The births of the following children of Johann Cristoffer & Maria Christina Kappel are recorded in the parish register of Trebur: (1) Johann Daniel, born 15 December 1723; (2 & 3) twins Hans & Anna Catharina, born 15 November 1724; (4) Johann Jacob Kappel, born 20 July 1727; (5) Johann Peter, born in May 1729; and (6) Anna Catharina, born 18 December 1732.
Jakob Kappell, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and son Johann [Adam] (age 16¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Severnyi Orel (Northern Eagle) under the command of Lieutenant Pyotr Malenkov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 33.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Kappell came from the German village of Trebur near Darmstadt.
There to not appear to be any surviving male descendants of this family among the Volga German colonies.
