Peter Karl, a linen weaver (Leineweber), and his wife Anna Sophia settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 21.

The 1767 census records that Peter Karl came from the Danish village of Scherschir [?].
