Johann Matthias Katzendorn, a single tailor (Schneider), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.

Mattias Katzendorn, a tailor (Schneider), his [new] wife Maria, and orphan Maria Bellinger (age 14) are recorded on a list of Beauregard recruits (Household No. 132) appended to the 1767 census of the Volga German colonies. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Katzendorn and Bellinger families.
Widower Mattias Katzendorn and his children are recorded on the 1798 census of Wittmann in Household No. Wm32.
