Klein (Husaren)
Friedrich Klein, a farmer, his wife Maria, and daughters (Katharina, age 7; Maria, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Danzig galliot Die Hoffnung under the command of Skipper Johann Heschke.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Husaren on 17 February 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.
In 1798, Johann Adam Klein and his wife and brothers (Thomas & Philipp) moved from Husaren to Franzosen.
The 1834 census of Franzosen records that Adam Klein moved to the colony of Graf and Thomas Klein moved to the colony of Neu-Kolonie.
Adam Klein from Franzosen is recorded on the 1834 census of Graf in Household No. 66.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Friedrich Klein came from Marienburg in Poland.
