In 1787, Wilhelm Kniff moved from Schulz to Rohleder.

Wilhelm Kniff and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Rohleder in Household No. Rl33 along with a note that they are living in Herzog.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
