Heinrich Knorr, a ship master (Schiffmeister), and his wife settled in the Volga German colony of Degott on 18 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 7.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Knorr came from the German region of Darmstadt.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Knorr family among the Volga German colonies.
