Discussion & Documentation

Johann Georg Kohl, a single hunter, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adam Drath.

Johann Georg Kol [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that he died en route.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Georg Kohl came from the German region of Württemberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Kohl family among the Volga German colonies.
