Gottlieb Kraus, a baker (Bäcker), and his wfe Christina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Gottlob Krause and his wife Christi. Friederica are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Gottlieb Kraus, a farmer, and his wife Christina settled in the Volga German colony of Fischer on 28 July 1765 [sic]. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15.
The 1767 census records that Gottlieb Kraus came from the German village of Ersterk [?] in the region of Schlesien [Silesia].
