Christoph Kraut, a farmer, his wife Sabina Margaretha, and son Johann Leonhard (age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Dobrinka in Household No. 24. They had settled there on 15 April 1765.
The Eichhorns record that Christoph Kraut came from the German village of Großsachsen. The 1767 census records that Christoph Kraut came from the German village of Ambap [?] in the region of Württemberg.
