Hans Georg Krug, a farmer, and his wife Katharina immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in the city of Schleswig on 30 May 1761. They are last recorded among the Danish colonies on 18 February 1765.
They joined the migration to Russia and settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm where they are recorded on the 1775 census in Household No. 49.
The Eichhorns record that Hans Georg Krug came from the German region of Württemberg or from the "Amte Bretten, Kurpfalz."
