Discussion & Documentation

Johann Michael Krutsch, a farmer, and his siblings (Anna, age 21; Margaretha, age 20; Johann, age 18; Daniel, age 13) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

[Johann] Michael Krutsch, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and brothers (Johann, age 18; Daniel, age 13) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Karaman in Household No. 38 along with his stepchildren (Katharina Pfeifer, age 17; Kaspar Pfeifer, age 13). They had settled there on 22 June 1767.

Michael Krutsch and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Stahl am Karaman in Household No. Sk11.

Daniel Krutsch and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Stahl am Karaman in Household No. Sk18.

Johannes Krutsch and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Rosenheim in Household No. Rm11. [One translation of the 1798 census erroneously records his surname as Krug.]

Christian Krutsch and his family (along with his mother) are recorded on the 1834 census of Rosenheim in Households No. 9 & 85.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Michael Krutsch came from the German district of Dienheim.
