Discussion & Documentation:

Nicodemus Kuhlmann, a butcher, his wife Anna Maria, and daughter Anna Katharina (age 13) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Frei Gebruder under the command of Skipper Minzberger.

Nicolaus Kilman [sic], his wife Anna Margretha [sic], and daughter Anna Catharina (age 13) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony they settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Nicodemus Kuhlmann came from the German region of Württemberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Kuhlmann family among the Volga German colonies.
