Johann Peter Langhofer, a farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Dobrinka on 29 June 1764. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16 along with his new wife, Anna Maria.

The 1834 census of Dobrinka records in Household No. 10 that brothers Peter & Friedrich Langofer and their families relocated to Dreispitz in 1817. The 1834 census of Dreispitz records in Household No. 7 that this move occurred in 1818.

The 1767 census records that Johann Peter Langhofer came from the German village of Oldorf in the Mecklenburg region.
