Leikam (Ober-Monjou)
The Leikam brothers (Sebastian, age 17½; Anton, age 15; Andreas, age 13) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax along with their mother and stepfather Johann [Christoph] Vogel.
The Leikam brothers (Sebastian, age 17½; Anthon, age 15½; Andreas, age 13) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with their mother and stepfather Johann Christp. Vogel.
Sebastian Leikam (age 18) and his brothers Anton (age 16) & Andreas (age 13) settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 17 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35 along with their stepfather, Christoph Vogel. [The translation of the 1767 census by Igor Plehve erroneously records this surname as Lenkof.]
In 1780, Andreas Leikam moved from Ober-Monjou to Katharinenstadt.
