Johann Adam Leser, son of Hans Heinrich Leser, was baptized in Stepfershausen on 29 May 1726.  Anna Margaretha Baumann, daughter of Johann Georg Baumann, was baptized in Solz on 21 October 1729.  Johann Adam and Anna Margaretha's marriage is recorded in both the Stepfershausen and Solz parish registers on 5 February 1749.

The baptisms of three of their children are recorded in the Solz parish registers: (1) Anna Maria, born 20 December 1750, baptized 21 December 1750; (2) Johann Michael, born 20 September 1752, baptized 21 September 1752; and (3) Johann Georg, born 25 February 1755, baptized 26 February 1755.

Johann Adam Lesser, his wife Anna Margaretha, and children (Anna Maria, age 18; Johann Michael, age 15; Johann Georg, age 12; Rosina Margaretha, age 8; Johann Kaspar, age 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Johannes under the command of Skipper Stahl.

Joh. Adam Loeser [sic], his wife Margaretha, and children (Anna Maria, age 19; Hans, Michel, age 15; Johann George, age 13; Rosina Margaretha, age 8; Johann Caspar, age 1½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Frank in 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 34.

Johannes Lesser from Frank and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Neu-Yagodnaya-Polyana.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Adam Lesser was a teacher from Sachsen (Saxony) while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer from the village of Steinwehrshausen [Stepfershausen] in Sachsen (Saxony).
