Lipp (Grimm)
Johannes Lipp, a single craftsman (Handwerker), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.
Johann Lipp and his family are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 97 along with orphan Ludwig Stiehl. The 1775 census does not record a relationship between the Lipp and Stiehl families.
In 1787, Georg Jakob Lipp moved from Grimm to Meinhard.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johannes Lipp came from the German region of Hessen while the 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Marburg.
