Lipps (Orlovskaya)*
Christoph Lipps, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), and his wife Friederika arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.
Christoph Leips [sic] and his wife Hentrigetta [sic] are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 3 August 1767. Christoph Lipps is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 20 along with his new wife Henriette.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Christoph Lipps came from the German region of Hannover.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Lipps family among the Volga German colonies.
