Johannes Löb, son of Adam Friedrich Löb & Anna Elisabeth Hartmann, was born in 1696 in Hunodstal. He married on 7 November 1720 to Maria Catharina Buhlmann. She had been born in 1693 in Dorfweil.

Johannes Löb & Maria Catharina Buhlmann had at least one son whose birth is recorded in the parish register of Dorfweil: Phillip, born 3 March 1737.

Phillip Löb married Maria Johanna Hartmann who had also been born in Dorfweil on 4 November 1735.

Johannes Löb died in Dorfweil on 4 February 1764. Maria Catharina Löb nee Buhlmann had died there the year before on 10 March 1763.

Philipp Löb and his wife [Jo]Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.

Philipp Löb, a farmer, and his wife Maria Johanna are recorded on the 1767 census of Bangert in Household No. 16. They had arrived in Bangert on 1 July 1767.

The 1798 census of Bangert records that Johannes Löb, presumed son of Philipp Löb, is working in the colony of Dinkel.

The death of Johannes Löb in 1817 is recorded on the 1834 census of Bangert in Household No. 27.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Löb was a blacksmith while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Löb came from the German region of Nassau. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Dorfweil in the Nassau-Usingen region.
