Lohrengel (Dönhof)
There are two Lohrengel families that settled in the Volga German colony of Dönhof on 18 June 1767. They had both arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Mathias under the command of Skipper David Wollert. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between these two Lohrengel families.
(1) Johann Peter Lorringel [sic] from Nieder-Seemen & Margaretha Westerwaller were married on 12 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.
Peter Lohrengel, a farmer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and daughter Sophia (age 6) arrived in Oranienbaum.
Peter Lohrengel, a farmer, and his wife Anna Eleonora are recorded on the 1767 census of Dönhof in Household No. 68.
(2) Georg Lohrengel, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived in Oranienbaum.
Georg Lohrengel, a farmer, and his wife Anna are recorded on the 1767 census of Dönhof in Household No. 58.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that both of these Lohrengel families came from the German region of Stolberg.
