There are three Loos families that arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Eva Maria under the command of Skipper Franz Christopher Schröder. Their relationship to each other, if any, requires further research.
(1) Christoph Loos, his wife Katharina, and son Andreas (age 1½) arrived in Oranienbaum.
Christoph Loos, his wife Anna Katharina, and son Andreas (age 1½) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that wife Anna Katharina Loos died en route. Another note records that Christoph Loos was "lost" [verschollen] in Vashinski Pogost.
(2) Anna Maria Loos, a single woman, arrived in Oranienbaum.
Maria Loos is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that she died en route.
(3) Johann Peter Loos, a single man, arrived in Oranienbaum.
Johann Peter Loos is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
If any of these families made it to the Volga German colonies, it is not known in which colony/colonies they settled.
