Johann Conrad Lutzi was born 13 December 1729 in Zwingenberg an der Bergstraße. He married there on 1 May 1761 to Anna Barbara Fischbach. She had been born 4 July 1735 in Zwingenberg.
Konrad Lutzi, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Svyatoi Pavel (St. Paul) under the command of the Lieutenant Fyedor Sornev.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 42.
The 1767 census records that Konrad Lutzi came from the German village of Zenberg [Zwingenberg] in the Darmstadt area.
