Johann Masch, a farmer, and his wife Maria arrived from Danzig at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 April 1766 aboard a two-masted merchant ship named Der Kleine Andreas (The Little Andrew) under the command of Skipper Jacob Jensen.
Johann Masch, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 15 November 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29.
The parish register of Messer records that Johannes Masch died there on 14 March 1809.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Masch came from the German region of Oderberg. The 1767 census records that Johann Masch came from the German region of Brandenburg.
