Michael Mehlberger [sic], a farmer, and his wife Charlotta Sophia settled in the Volga German colony of Degott on 18 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 4.
The 1767 census records that Michael Mehlberger [sic] came from the German village of Salse in Lothringen (Plehve identifies this village as Saulcet dr. Allier).
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
