Discussion & Documentation

Christoph Meier, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Jost in 1768.

The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Erlangen in the Bayreuth region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Meier family among the Volga German colonies.
