Johann Meier, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard a ship named Der Ringende Jacob (The Wrestling Jacob) under the command of Skipper Johann Heitmann.
Johannes Meier and his wife Anna Catrina are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Anna Catrina died en route.
It is not known in which colony Johannes Meier settled.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Meier came from the German region of Köln.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Meier family among the Volga German colonies.
